He is facing a charge of raping a 14 year-old pupil.
Forget Moyo (31) of Tshamnangana Village under Chief Sitauze was not asked to plead to a rape charge as defined in Section 65 (1) of the Criminal Law (Reform and Codification) Act, Chapter 9:23 when he appeared before Beitbridge provincial resident magistrate Ms Gloria Takundwa.
He was remanded in custody to 6 December and also advised to apply to the High Court for bail.
The prosecutor, Mr Tawanda Musina, said on 2 June, Moyo who is a teacher at Kwalu Secondary School spotted the complainant at the school grounds.
He allegedly lured the girl into his room.
The court was told that while inside, Moyo locked the door and asked the girl to be intimate with him.
The complainant, however, refused and Moyo got angry and allegedly grabbed the girl, threw her onto his bed and raped her.
Soon after committing the offence, Moyo ordered the girl not to report the offence to anyone threatening her with assault, the court was told.
The matter only came to light on Wednesday following a raid at the school by police after they had received a tip-off from the community leading to Moyo’s arrest.
The deputy headmaster of the school was also arrested for raping a pupil and is yet to appear in court.
Meanwhile, a 28-year-old Beitbridge man was arraigned before the same magistrate for allegedly indecently assaulting his neighbour’s 15-year-old daughter when she spurned his love proposal.
Tabel Ncube of House Number 3125 Hlalani Kuhle area in the border town pleaded not guilty to contravening a section of the Criminal Law (Reform and Codification) Act (indecent assault) when he appeared before Ms Takundwa.
He was remanded out of custody to Tuesday on $20 bail.
As part of the bail conditions, Ncube was ordered to reside at his given address until the matter has been finalised as well as not to interfere with police investigations.
The court heard that on 20 November at about 2pm, Ncube approached the girl and proposed to her.
The girl turned down his advances, which did not go down well with Ncube.
He then moved closer to the girl and started fondling her breasts and touching her buttocks.
The girl went to the police station and reported the matter leading to Ncube’s arrest.
