Cindy said she took up the initiative after realising that there were few women in the entertainment industry. She then decided to hook up with Clare so that they could provide an opportunity for women to rise to the occasion.
“Kumabhebhi is a safe environment for women to come together, having fun and networking without being harassed. It is a platform that gives female musicians a rare opportunity to showcase their talents in various angles even outside music,” said Cindy.
Two male celebrities are expected to make a surprise appearance as guests during the concert.
Cindy added that the initiative was not only meant women but for male music fans, who enjoyed the two’s music.
“We are actually happy that this is not a one-sided event; we have big plans for our male counterparts.
“As this concert is fast growing, we are going to include male artistes to come on board and share with us what they have to offer,” she said.
Running under the theme: “Bringing Sexy Back”, the two musicians said the theme was meant to celebrate feminism and acknowledge that looking good was not a crime.
The event is sponsored by the Book Café, B.Identified and Sapatos.
Clare, however, bemoaned lack of finances in running the programme and urged sponsors to come on board.
“We want this event to grow, developing it into something that will be recognised internationally.
“Plans were afoot to bring close friends and artistes from neighbouring countries,” said Clare.
Local male guest celebrities to be expected are former Big Brother housemate Roki, BaShupi, the Ninja President Winky D, Trevor Dongo and men of the moment Suluman Chimbetu and Jah Prayzah.
