THE Lady Chevrons took time off their busy schedule yesterday and conducted a coaching clinic at Highlands Park Primary School in Harare.

The Lady Chevrons are currently involved in a five-match One Day International series against the United States.

The Zimbabwe senior women held the coaching clinic as part of an outreach programme.

Lady Chevrons senior player, Chipo Mugeri, described the coaching clinic as a welcome development in the growth of the sport in the country.

“It was amazing, spending time with the young girls who showed a lot of character. Sport teaches one character.

“I hope such initiatives happen more often because we have seen how happy kids are when they rub shoulders with the Lady Chevrons, “ said Mugeri.

The Lady Chevrons are just one match away from clinching the five ODI series against the United States.

They lead the series 2-0 and a win today will be enough for the Lady Chevrons to record a series win with two more matches to go.

After cruising to five-wicket victory in the opening ODI, the United States bounced back a more determined side giving the hosts a run of their money in the second match of the series.

The two teams clash in the third ODI today.
