The official Facebook account of the late radio personality Babongile Sikhonjwa has reportedly been hacked, prompting concern among family, friends and thousands of followers who continue to cherish the broadcaster’s legacy online.

This comes at a time when his loved ones celebrated Sikhonjwa’s first birthday since his death on June 20, after his suddenly death on September 21, 2025, at the age of 49.

The account is believed to have been compromised by a user identified as Alien Skin TV Uganda, whose name now appears to have taken over the page.

The development has raised fears that the account could be used to post misleading content or target unsuspecting followers.

Sikhonjwa’s fans are urged to ignore any suspicious posts, messages or requests originating from the account until it is successfully recovered.

His family is also tipped to report the page to Meta to help restore access, or eventually take it down.

Sikhonjwa was celebrated for his distinctive voice, humour and unwavering support for Zimbabwean artistes.

Even after his passing, thousands continued visiting his Facebook page to relive memories through his photographs, funny videos and inspirational posts.

The hacking has angered fans, with many describing it as a disrespectful act against one of Zimbabwe’s most cherished media personalities and calling for the page to be restored as a digital archive of his enduring legacy.
