LATEST: No elections for Area Zones

THERE will be no elections for Zifa’s Area Zones as cleared candidates are unopposed with some of the executive committee member slots remaining unfilled.

In a statement, Zifa communications manager, Xolisani Gwesela released names of those who had submitted nominations and were cleared to contest.

In the list, the post of chairperson has been filled in all the four regions as only one candidate in each of the regions managed to get clearance to contest the election.

Three regions also have one candidate each for the post of vice chairperson while in the Central Region no one got the nod to fill in that position.

Each region should have four executive committee members in addition to the chairperson and vice chairperson but only the Southern Region has four contestants for the executive while Northern Region has two while the Eastern and Central Regions have three administrators who have been cleared to take part in the election.

The elections had been scheduled for 21 and 22 July.

Candidates that were approved by the electoral committee are as follow:-

Southern Region Area Zone; chairpersonNdodana Masuku, vice chairpersonDominic Nyathi, executive committee membersRichard Banda, Jaka Jaka, Senzeni Sibanda and Innocent Chuma
