HIGHLANDERS star midfielder Nigel Makumbe has been invited for trials by South African Absa Premiership side SuperSport United.
Makumbe, on a one year loan at Highlanders from defending champions FC Platinum will spend two weeks at Matsatsantsa, which will see him miss Bosso’s two Castle Lager Premier Soccer League matches, against Black Rhinos and Herentals when action resumes next month.
”Nigel Makumbe has been invited for a two-week trial stint with South Africa’s Absa Premiership side SuperSport United. We will miss his services in our matches against Rhinos and @HerentalsFc,’’ posted Highlanders on their official Twitter account on Wednesday.
The 21-year old has made an immediate impression at Highlanders since he joined the Bulawayo giants on loan from FC Platinum with some sublime displays whenever he is fit. It will be a massive blow for Bosso’s championship aspirations should Makumbe make the grade at SuperSport. While he has scored just one league goal, the creative midfielder has provided a number of assists since the start of the season.
