Latest: Sadc Troika to deliberate Lesotho’s elections

The Extra Ordinary Sadc Double Troika Summit to deliberate over Lesotho’s elections scheduled for next week has started in Pretoria, South Africa. Sadc chairperson President Mugabe is chairing the Summit that is also attended by South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma and Namibia’s incoming President Hage Geingob who are also members of the troika.

Botswana and Malawi who are also members of the troika are represented by their Foreign ministers.Sadc facilitator to the Lesotho dialogue who is South Africa’s Deputy President is expected to present a report on that country’s preparedness for the polls following last year’s attempted coup.

Lesotho’s warring parties led by Prime Minister Thomas Thabane and his deputy Mothejwa Metsing are also in the meeting.
