to pay US$8 000 in legal fees plus interests.
In an urgent chamber application filed at the High Court on Thursday last week, Thondhlanga and Associates said it rendered legal services to the labour organisation in three different cases in 2009.
The law firm represented by Mr Taksure Thondhlanga submitted that ZFTU had approached them for legal representation.
Mr Thondhlanga, in his declaration, said after rendering the services, the law firm issued a statement of accounts to ZFTU.
“Plaintiff charged US$960 for the professional services rendered to defendant on its three different cases on its special instance request,” Mr Thondhlanga submitted.
However, he said despite demands ZFTU has declined to pay the amount due.
“Despite several demands, defendant has failed, refused and or neglected to pay the amount of US$7 960. Plaintiff claims US$7 960 at prescribed rate calculated from the date of service of summons to date of full payment,” he said.
ZFTU is yet to respond to the application, which will be heard by Justice Andrew Mutema.
