A Harare lawyer appeared in court recently facing allegations of aiding a 61-year-old woman to forge her young sister’s affidavit and signature in a bid to make her executor of their late father’s estate.The lawyer, Tawanda Katsuro (27), and Kumbirayi Kudenga (61) appeared before Harare magistrate Ms Rumbidzai Mugwagwa facing fraud charges. Katsuro denied the charges while Kudenga pleaded guilty. She was fined US$200 or 30 days in prison. Furthermore, four months in prison were suspended on condition that she does not commit a similar offence.
Ms Mugwagwa strongly cautioned Kudenga that at her age, she should desist from conning people.
“At your age stop being a con-woman. Go and behave,” she said.
The complainant in the matter is Kudenga’s sister Julie (42).
