THE Meteorological Services Department has advised the public against using electronic devices during thunderstorms and to also ensure that rooftops are secure as violent winds are expected in some parts of Zimbabwe in coming days.
In a statement, MSD forecaster Mr James Ngoma said high temperatures were expected to continue today with heat storms, accompanied by thunder, lightning and strong winds.
Some parts of Matabeleland South, Midlands, Masvingo and Manicaland provinces will experience morning drizzles.
High temperatures will continue today with Kariba recording 42 degrees Celsius, Kadoma 38, Lupane 37, Chinhoyi, Kwekwe and Bindura at 36, Bulawayo 35, Harare 34, Mutare 32, Marondera, Gweru 30 and Masvingo 25.
Other places that could record temperatures of note are Victoria Falls 35, Vumba 32, Matopos and Chimanimani 31, Nyanga 30 and Great Zimbabwe 25 degrees Celsius.
The MSD said a cloud band from Botswana had suppressed temperatures over Matabeleland South, which resulted in heat showers in Bulawayo, Matabeleland North and South on Friday.
