OLD poetry and plays have long taught us that there is nothing in a name, and that which is called a rose by any other name it will be as sweet, but our day-to-day experiences in this age seem to have a different narrative.
There is surely so much in a name!
Nestled in Mutare’s downtown area, Lennon Quality Hotel, with its quality service, epitomised by royal accommodation, up-to-the-minute bar, let alone courteous staff, is redefining the hospitality industry, not only for the eastern border city, but the Eastern Highlands as a region.
Owing to the imported state-of-the-art fittings inside the building, one will only tell that they are in downtown Mutare when they exit the Lennon Quality Hotel premises.
No wonder, the Dr Leonard Mukumba-owned hotel scooped a coveted award at the just-ended Manicaland Agricultural Show, and flexed its muscle in the industry by securing a space to showcase at the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show in Harare in August.
As it fast turns into the pride of Mutare, Lennon Quality Hotel scooped the Best Tourism, Fast Foods and Restaurant award for the hotel as well as the Best Tourism, Fast Foods and Restaurant agricultural show stand, in a tightly contested segment that featured several well established giants in the industry. This comes after the hotel only opened its doors to the public on November 11, 2023.
Lennon Quality Hotel marketing manager, Ms Doreen Chiwaya, said the awards are a testimony of the hard work of the shareholder, management and staff of the hotel.
“It is common cause that when one performs well the world out there will always see and appreciate. This is what is happening with Lennon Quality Hotel.
“The shareholder, management and staff of the hotel has shown immense dedication to the success of the hotel, and the result are there for all to see. As Lennon Quality Hotel, we are so excited to be honoured at the recent Manicaland Agricultural Show. The awards mean a lot to us as they are a clear appreciation and recognition of our hard work.
“We will continue traversing on that path, and we promise our client quality time each time they come here. We will be introducing more services as we move with the times in the evolving hospitality industry,” she said.
With its state-of-the-art bar facility on site, marked by a soul soothing serene ambience, the 28-roomed facility has offered a different dimension in the hospitality industry.
Ms Chiwaya said: “We have also made it a point that we offer a service that is affordable to the community. This is the reason we have recorded high figured in terms of our occupancy rates.
“We also take good care of our clients beyond their presence on site and this include shuttle services around the city as well as around tourism sites in the province of Manicaland.”
