‘Lest we forget’: President Mnangagwa honours fallen heroes

President Mnangagwa has paid tribute to the gallant sons and daughters of Zimbabwe who sacrificed their lives for the country’s freedom, sovereignty and dignity as the nation commemorates the 46th Heroes’ Day.

In a message shared on his Facebook page, President Mnangagwa said Zimbabwe’s independence was “not given on a silver platter” but was secured through the blood, sweat and tears of those who fought for liberation.

He called on Zimbabweans to honour the country’s living veterans while safeguarding the legacy of unity, peace and development left by the fallen heroes.

“Let us build our nation together, brick by brick, stone by stone,” he said.
