Letters to the Editor: Ban on public gatherings most welcome

I am happy that at the time of writing this letter there has been two confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the country.

As a nation, we are pleased that the Government has tightened coronavirus preventive measures, especially by forbidding public gatherings.

We just hope that there will be a boost in expertise and machinery to easily detect the virus at our ports of entry.

It is good for Zimbabweans to stay where they are at the moment and avoid travelling to areas of risk just as the President said in his address to the nation.

On the other hand, we need to desist from panic buying, especially of hygiene products such as hand sanitisers, gloves and face masks.

It is everyone’s right to access good hygiene in the face of this pandemic.

We hope that the Government will keep tightening preventive measures to protect us from this deadly disease.

Citizen, Harare.
