Editor — Good day! Allow me to comment on the above-mentioned analysis. That was a WELL WRITTEN article such that I shared it with my friends, brothers and sisters dotted around, not only in the country, but the globe as well.
What is currently taking place at the Bulawayo City Council is not a case of the council going to the dogs but DOGS GOING TO THE COUNCIL.
Those councillors leave a lot to be desired and thanks to the MDC-T, that is when we started witnessing such nonsense. MDC led by Welshman Ncube had quality, for example, the late Paul Malaba who was then a lecturer at the National University of Science and Technology’s (Nust) Department of Acturial Science under the Faculty of Commerce.
Acturial Science is one area of knowledge that isn’t a walk in the park and Dr Garry Ferguson, one of the city’s, if not country’s, respected doctors versus the councillors who had dubious qualifications and one who stands out was that CLOWN who stated that his qualification were standard 6 and driver’s licence . . . like really?
Since when has a driver’s licence ever been a qualification? We then had that so-called Mayor Thaba Moyo who my neighbour once described as BEING BLANK AS THE PAGES OF A BRAND NEW EXERCISE BOOK!
The previous council members were also corrupt. Gift Banda (to think that he was the deputy mayor still leaves a sour taste in my mouth), Silas Chigora (who happens to be the most useless of the lot) etc. It is clear that people voted along party lines and not the person because had they voted for individuals we wouldn’t be having such people in council. In the House of Assembly we saw Dorcas Sibanda, a “shebeen queen” being elected ahead of Japhet Ndabeni-Ncube, what were the people of Bulawayo South really thinking?
Gone are the days when this great city had GOOD mayors or councillors such as the likes of Juric Goldwasser, Constandinos, Townsend, Nicholas Mabodoko, Japhet Ndabeni-Ncube (mentioned earlier on). Naison Khutshwekhaya and Joshua Malinga were OK too. Japhet Ndabeni-Ncube, for example, made me proud of being a Bulawayan after he fought the Zinwa take over.
The new concillors lakho kufiwe and I won’t dwell much on those especially the one who arrived laye “reeking of alcohol”. I’m sure the above-mentioned former mayors or ouncillors who passed away are probably turning in their graves seeing the s**t that is at council.
Please, keep exposing the rot at council as well as their mediocrity.
