Liberation heroine Rori laid to rest

Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs Monica Mutsvangwa has implored Zimbabweans to be guided by traits exhibited by liberation war  heroes.

In a speech read on her behalf by the director in her office Mr Terrence Machocho during the burial of liberation war heroine Cde Clara Rori at the Provincial Heroes Acre in Mutare on Wednesday, she said people should be guided by the principles and ethics of dedication, hard work and selflessness.

Cde Rori (55) died on July 8.

She did her primary education at Derembwe School and joined the liberation struggle in 1976 and trained at Doroi Camp.

She was deployed to Mavhudzi in 1977 and later went to Samakweza in 1978.

Known as Cde Vigilant Muhondo, she was integrated into the Zimbabwe National Army in 1982. She was posted to HQ 3 Brigade before she retired in 2013.

Cde Rori is survived by three children.
