President Mnangagwa is set to commission the second batch of refuse collection equipment from Geo Pomona Waste Management this morning, marking another significant step in the capital’s drive towards cleaner streets and improved environmental health.
The newly acquired fleet, which includes refuse compactors, tipper trucks, skip trucks, and street sweepers, is poised to bolster existing resources and enhance the efficiency of waste collection across Harare. According to Geo Pomona, the additional machinery will enable faster turnaround times, a wider service reach, and more consistent refuse collection for residents and businesses alike.

This latest investment forms part of Geo Pomona’s broader strategy to modernise waste management systems throughout the city, with a strong focus on environmental hygiene in residential, industrial, and commercial districts.
The new vehicles are expected to be deployed without delay, supporting ongoing initiatives to clear dumpsites and re-establish regular refuse collection, as Harare continues its journey towards a cleaner, healthier urban environment.
