Liverpool didn’t give up, with Philippe Coutinho and Mamadou Sakho netting. At 4-4, Dortmund was set to advance on away goals until Lovren powered in the header a minute into injury time.
The Anfield encounter had all the unpredictability lacking in Ukraine where Shaktar Donetsk crushed Sporting Braga 4-0 to advance 6-1 on aggregate.
