MWOS coach Lloyd Mutasa is under increasing pressure from the club’s supporters following a poor run of results that has left the Norton-based side fighting to remain in the top half of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League table.

The Punters, who stunned many observers by finishing runners-up in their debut top-flight campaign last season, have struggled to reproduce that form this year under the former Dynamos midfielder.

And, by the time the final whistle sounded in their 2-0 defeat to giants Dynamos at their Ngoni Stadium on Sunday, frustration among the MWOS faithful had boiled over.

Disgruntled supporters displayed placards bearing the message: “Mutasa must go peacefully.”

The professionally printed banners suggested the protest was not merely a knee-jerk reaction to Sunday’s result, but rather the culmination of growing dissatisfaction over the team’s recent performances.

However, Mutasa appeared unfazed when he addressed journalists after the match.

“I think I’m one type of guy who doesn’t look much on the supporters, because I would want to remember that even in my first year here, when I was in Division One, I could see such incidents. Even last year I could see such incidents.

“So, this is a common thing to me, and that will never push me away from the target I am looking at.”
