Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) is offering a 10 percent discount to local operators who will register for 12th edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani 2019 Expo.

Sanganai/Hlanganani 2019 World Tourism Expo will be held between the September 12 to 14 at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre (ZITF) grounds in Bulawayo.

The expo is a reputable annual tourism trade fair that attracts exhibitors and buyers from worldwide. Operators and buyers meet and network, whilst also interacting with travel media worldwide, utilising the platform to introduce and sell their products and services to international buyers.

In order to boost this year’s expo, they have also introduced a strict International buyer policy in order to attract buyers who are serious about investing in Zimbabwe. The expo is expected to host international buyers from different source markets over 100.

Said acting chief executive Mrs Rita Likukuma said:

“The screening criteria for international buyers will be strict as our focus is to host buyers who are serious about bringing business to Zimbabwe and who also have potential to invest in the tourism industry.”

“With local operators at heart, the 10 percent discount will allow local exhibitors to enjoy this as an added advantage alongside the benefits of the expo which include creating strategic business partnerships with world tourism players and networking across Ministerial divides,” she said.

Over the years, the expo has gained momentum with both exhibitors and international buyers as it forms an important bridge between the two.

“The 2018 edition registered 318 exhibitors and we envisage to surpass this given the interest that has come through from the exhibitors. We want the 2019 edition to be bigger and better.”

She said at least 100 international buyers, who would have the chance  to meet with local tour operators, would be hosted at this year’s edition of the expo.

“No operator is small in tourism as everyone has a market to serve,” she said.

The Sanganai Expo has, over the years, contributed much to the tourism sector and is now a major highlight on the tourism calendar. It is on the forefront of Zimbabwean business exchange.
