RURAL life is getting a glam upgrade!
A wave of development powered by tourism is transforming humble villages around Victoria Falls and Hwange into hotbeds of modern living.
The traditional pole-and-dagga huts are fast being replaced by flashy lodges and brick homes.

Villages like Monde, Sidobe, Indlovu, and Lupinyu, all tucked within 30km of the tourist magnet Victoria Falls, are sprouting sleek housing, luxury eco-lodges, and paved roads, becoming magnets for culture-thirsty visitors.
Acting Chief Mvuthu couldn’t hide his pride:

“This boom has brought jobs, dignity and visibility to our people. Tourists no longer just come for the Big Five — now they’re tasting our food, dancing to our drums, and learning our ways,” he said.
Locals say the face-lift is more than cosmetic, it’s survival. New boreholes and water systems have ended decades-long struggles, while cultural tours and arts centres are pulling tourists deeper into village life.

Matabeleland North Minister Richard Moyo gave credit where it’s due, to President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030:
“No one and no place is being left behind. These rural areas are becoming launchpads for opportunity, from Hwange to Binga!”

And there’s more on the horizon: a cricket stadium, a tourism college, and solar power projects are in the pipeline, promising to cement the region’s new status as a rural paradise with urban flair.
Jobs? Hundreds created in two years. Impact? Unmissable.
Victoria Falls isn’t just about waterfalls anymore — it’s where tradition meets transformation!
