A 29-YEAR-OLD man from Cowdray Park in Bulawayo appeared at the Western Commonage Magistrates’ Court after allegedly assaulting and stabbing his ex-girlfriend in a fit of rage after she had broken up with him.
Brian Maseko appeared before magistrate Vikayi Douglas Chikwekwe facing one count of physical abuse.
He pleaded not guilty and was remanded to 14 November 2024 for continuation of trial.
Allegations are that on 27 September 2024 at around 3:30pm Maseko punched Flora Moyo (42) several times on the back.
The court heard that after assaulting Moyo with his fists the accused then pushed her down took out an okapi knife from his pocket and stabbed her once in the right leg. It was further heard that the accused committed the crime after Moyo had told him their relationship had ended three months ago.
The matter came to light when Moyo reported the matter to the police.
