LSZ clears six lawyers

Nyamufukudza of Phiri and Partners, Mr Elvis Mashindi of Mashindi and Associates, Mr Elatone Bonongwe of Bonongwe and Partners and Magoge-Mashindi NC of Magoge-Mashindi Attorneys are now registered to practice this year.
LSZ executive secretary, Mr Edward Mapara, confirmed that the six’s papers were now in order and they have registered after their names had been published in the press.
“The six have regularised their papers and they have been issued with practicing certificates for this year. They can now freely approach the courts, police, prisons and other offices representing their clients,” said Mr Mapara.
Members of the public, said Mr Mapara, can now engage the six’s services.
Last week the LSZ published the names of the 19 lawyers, who had not regularised their papers for this year’s registration, warning litigants and stakeholders in the justice delivery system against dealing with them.
The society’s council has this year convicted 10 lawyers, whose names could not be disclosed, for offences including abuse of trust funds, bringing the name of the profession into disrepute and tempering with official documents.
The 10 are yet to appear before the disciplinary tribunal that sits at the High Court.
