THE late liberation war hero, Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Alison Dale has been laid to rest at the Gweru Provincial Heroes Acre.
The Minister of State for Midlands Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Owen Ncube, presided over the burial ceremony that was attended by scores of mourners, including members of family, friends and Government officials.

Cde Dale (71) passed away on September 5 after a long illness.
Minister Ncube described the late liberation war hero as a loving, caring, inspirational mentor and freedom fighter who sacrificed his life towards the liberation of the country.
“The Midlands Province commends the President and First Secretary of Zanu PF, Head of State and Government, Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, His Excellency, the President of the
Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde. Dr ED Mnangagwa, himself a decorated freedom fighter, for conferring liberation war hero status on our departed Comrade,” he said.

Minister Ncube said the conferment attests to Cde Dale’s loyalty to leadership, patriotism and selfless sacrifice to free Zimbabwe from colonial bondage, and consistent support towards liberation war ethos, national interests, unity, peace and development.
Cde Dale was born on 11 July 1954 at Manama Hospital in Gwanda, Matabeleland South Province under Chief Mathe, Headman Masulu.
He did his Primary Education at Gungwe Mission and Manama Primary School up to 1969 and proceeded to Manama Secondary School from 1970 to 1971.
