Lupita shines at Cannes

Lupita Nyong’o made sure all eyes were on her when she walked the red carpet at the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival Opening Ceremony on Wednesday evening.

The 32-year-old joined a host of other celebrities at the La Tete Haute première, a new movie about a young delinquent as he comes of age, which stars Catherine Deneuve.

Lupita gave a twirl as she arrived in her dramatic one-of-a kind jade Gucci chiffon plisse gown with a cape detail at The Palais des Festivals.

She completed her look with green satin open toe platform heels and a blush pink satin clutch with an antique gold cat head closure. The skirt section was pleated and made up of diaphanous fabric, which flew in the air as the Oscar winner made her way inside the venue.

The “12 Years A Slave” star gave her look some edge with a slick of contrasting purple lipstick which contrasted perfectly with her gown.

Her hair was worn up and secured in place with a couple of diamond encrusted alice bands which were set against very elegant diamond drop earrings.

She also wore a couple of statement diamond rings on her hands as she stopped and posed for photographers.

The actress was pictured arriving at Nice airport on Tuesday, where she looked as chic as ever, donning a cool leather blazer with a scarf wrapped around her head.

She was in good company on the night with a host of other stars all joining her at the prestigious event.

Naomi Watts and Julianne Moore opted for dramatic plunging numbers, while Sienna Miller and Natalie Portman wore primary colours for the occasion. — Dailymail.
