Three-quarter cup granulated sugar;

One large egg;

One teaspoon vanilla extract;

One cup all-purpose flour;

Half cup unsweetened cocoa powder;

One teaspoon baking soda;

Quarter teaspoon salt;

Half cup chocolate chips

Method

1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.

2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas with the melted butter, stirring until well mixed.

3. Add the granulated sugar, egg and vanilla extract.

Continue to mix until the batter is smooth.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt.

5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring gently until just combined.

Fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.

6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smoothen the top with a spatula.

Bake for 60 to 65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean.

7. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
