SOUTH Africa-based reggae artist, Luttan King, continues to redefine the reggae scene with refreshing tracks.
The Vocal Gang frontman, popular for the late Lucky Dube’s ‘Guns and Roses’ rendition, and his song ‘Situation In My Yard’, has released a new single titled ‘She Rocks.’
This time he has merged forces with UK-based songstress, Lorraine Lionheart.
Reflecting on their collaboration, Luttan said:
“Meeting Lorraine was truly a blessing.
“I see myself as her top treasure because our connection through music is profound and multifaceted.”
Their creative journey began in 2017, introduced by a mutual friend and collaborator.
Their first project together, ‘Mama’, was an emotional tribute by Lorraine dedicated to her late mother.
“May her soul rest in peace,” Luttan said.
The origins of ‘She Rocks’ reveal Luttan’s artistic process and collaborative spirit.
Initially recorded as a solo piece, the song took on a new life when he shared it with Lorraine.
“She instantly connected with the track, though not romantically,” Luttan humorously clarified.
The final version is a testament to their synergy, with a special shoutout to Elder Tiya from Magic Productions in Malawi for helping craft the refreshing song.
As the festive season approaches, Luttan King revealed he will be travelling to Zimbabwe to reconnect with friends and family.
He said he will hold a single show back home.
“This genre (reggae) deserves respect, appreciation and global recognition,” he said.
“There are so many artists sharing powerful messages and building on a rich legacy. We’re in good hands,” he added.
After overcoming personal and professional hurdles, he is making a full-time return to music with an ambitious slate of projects.
“This is my moment to shine,” he declared.
