LLOYD CHIGOWE might have earned himself a permanent job at Dynamos following his recent success in the Chibuku Super Cup.

DeMbare beat Ngezi Platinum Stars 4-2 after a penalty shootout to lift their second consecutive Chibuku Super Cup title at Rufaro last Saturday.

Success in the country’s premier knockout tournament could mask Chigowe’s indifferent performance in the league race.

Dynamos finished eighth in the league and a massive 20 points behind champions Simba Bhora.

But the Glamour Boys managed to retain the Chibuku Super Cup title thanks to a superb comeback against Ngezi Platinum Stars in Mbare last weekend.

The club’s executive is now set to meet and review the season.

That meeting, which will be held “in the next five days” will also determine the future of Chigowe, who has been in charge on an interim basis since August, when Genesis “Kaka” Mangombe was sacked.

“We will review our season and all the attendant issues in the next five days,” Dynamos chairman, Moses Maunganidze, told Zimpapers Sports Hub yesterday.

However, sources close to the club claim that Chigowe secured his future when he led DeMbare to their second consecutive Chibuku Super Cup title.

Dynamos also beat Ngezi in the final of the same competition at Baobab last year.

It means DeMbare will play in the CAF Confederation Cup for the second season running.

Chigowe was appointed interim gaffer on August 7 and took charge of 12 league games.

He won four, drew four and lost four.

Should “MaBlanyo” get the job on a permanent basis, it will be his second spell in charge.

He was in charge of Dynamos in the opening games of the 2019 season, before he was replaced by Tonderai Ndiraya.
