INDUSTRY and Commerce Deputy Minister Cde Chiratidzo Iris Mabuwa and her Mines and Mining Development counterpart, Cde Fred Moyo have reaffirmed their loyalty to Zanu-PF party and desire to reintegrate into the party at provincial level following the lifting of their suspensions after the Politburo cleared them of any wrong doing.
Cde Mabuwa and Eng Moyo were once accused of being part of the then Vice-President Dr Joice Mujuru’s cabal which sought to topple President Mugabe through unconstitutional means. The two together with Cdes Flora Buka and Francis Nhema were suspended from the party in the province and subsequently lost their positions in the Zanu-PF Midlands provincial executive.
Zanu-PF Midlands Province is already advocating for the lifting of the suspension on Cde Flora Buka while they are still assessing Cde Nhema’s situation. The four despite being suspended from the party did not cross the floor to join Dr Mujuru’s new party, ZimPF.
Eng Moyo said they have always been innocent. He, however, said he had no hard feelings against anyone and expressed willingness to contribute significantly to the party both at national and provincial level.
“What happened is now in the past. We were cleared recently and we do not hold anything against anyone. We are happy that the party gave us another opportunity to deliver to the best of our ability without restrictions ,” he said.
Cde Mabuwa also expressed gratitude to members of her constituency for showing her unwavering support while on suspension.
“We were recently cleared by the Politburo and our suspensions were lifted. I want to thank you all because you stood by me at the hour of need. This shows that you have always had faith in me and I will not betray you,” she said.
Zanu-PF Midlands provincial spokesperson Cde Cornelius Mpereri said the province learnt of the development when it was announced soon after the last Politburo meeting but were yet to receive formal communication.
“We are aware because it came out after the last Politburo meeting. However, we are yet to receive formal communication from the party informing us of the development,” he said.
