Sungura music legend Alick Macheso who turns 58 years today, has marked his birthday with a heartfelt message of gratitude, paying tribute to God, his family, friends, band members and loyal fans who have stood by him throughout his illustrious career.
The celebrated musician said reaching such an age was a testament to God’s grace, protection and guidance throughout his life’s journey.
In a touching birthday message he shared with his followers on social media, Macheso reflected on the many experiences that have shaped his life and career, expressing appreciation for the gift of life and good health.
“Today I have reached 58 years old, my heart is full of gratitude to God the Almighty for taking care of me, giving me good health, grace, and the gift of life. Everything I have gone through in life, I know that it was guided by the grace of God,” said Macheso.
The Madhuwe hitmaker also acknowledged the unwavering support he has received from his family, friends, his band Orchestra Mberikwazvo and music lovers across the globe, saying their love and encouragement continue to inspire him every day.
“I thank my family, Orchestra Mberikwazvo, friends, and all my followers all over the world. Your love, your prayers, and the support you have given and the way you appreciate our music is what lifts us up every day,” he said.
Macheso, who has enjoyed a successful career spanning decades, also shared a message of humility, love and respect, saying life’s true value is not measured by material possessions but by how people treat one another.
“Life has taught me that a person is not measured by what they have, but by the depth of love, respect, and treating others well. Let us continue to thank God, love each other, and build hope for the future,” said Baba Shero.
