Sungura kingpin, Alick Macheso, saluted Paul Mpofu Junior for his professionalism and dedication to work.
Mpofu Jr, who is a drummer, is son to the late Paul Mpofu of the Murambinda fame.
Introducing Mpofu Jr, Macheso who thrilled fans at Warren Park Beer Hall last Friday, described the drummer as an assert.
He said he was determined to help him realise his potential and shine as an icon.
“This one with dreadlocks. Do you know him? I understand he has a look-alike form our members.
“But this one is Paul Mpofu. Yes, he is son of the late Paul Mpofu of the Murambinda fame,” shouted Macheso much to the delight of the packed hall.
The Orchestra Mberikwazvo band leader also revealed that Lucky Mumiriki, who suffered a stroke over a decade ago, was still on their payroll.
He said they would continue taking care of his welfare as a sign of love after he served the outfit with distinction.
“Lucky is not here with us on stage, but I can assure you that he is very much with us.
“Whatever the guys are getting here, he is also receiving something,” he said.
Macheso said they were ready to work together with Lucky in future.
