IN his first ever family show in Mutare, undisputed sungura king Alick Macheso and Orchestra Mberikwazvo will on Sunday afternoon perform at popular entertainment spot Pick and Save Supperrette.This will be an opportune time for school-going kids, among other young fans, to witness Extrabasso’s wonder performance in broad daylight and on a relaxed environment while having fun.
The Petunia hit-maker usually serenades to his nocturnal revellers as from 11pm, but this time he is scheduled to start performing just after 12 noon, till late.
The show organisers confirmed the show.
“Macheso will meet his young fans, among other fans, for the first time at the venue and we are proud to announce that we are ready for the show. The band is coming in full force and we urge parents and their children to come in numbers and have fun,” said the organisers.
This time, the star-studded band is expected to belt out in full some of the new songs from their forthcoming album expected to be out before end of this year.
Macheso’s lyrical expertise and flawless performances are admired by many. He is expected to belt out songs that made him a household name like Mundikumbuke, Shedia, Sarah, Kushungurudzwa, Kumuzi Kwatu and the crowd favourite, Tafadzwa Nyarara, off the album Zvinoda Kutendwa.
The veteran composer, whose magical touch on bass guitar makes him one of the finest instrument players on land, is expected to put up his best at the potentially thrilling show.
