will stage his first show on March 8 at Chez Ntemba and the next day serenade fans at Safari Hotel, right in Johannesburg, before he returns home to prepare for the UK tour, which promises more fireworks than before.
Back home Macheso will have a number of shows, before he packs his bags for the UK, where he is expected to rock the crowd in Surrey and Leicester, which have become the home ground for Zimbabwean artistes intending to hold gigs in that country.
He will kick off his first leg of the UK with a show in Workington, Surrey, on March 29 before winding off his tour the following day in Leicester.
Macheso, who is no stranger to the UK having held a string of shows in the last few years, will take the opportunity to further market his album, “Kwatakabva Mutunhu”, which he released in December last year.
Since its release, the sungura ace has held several gigs around the country to promote the album and several of his works that have made him a brand name from the time he started music in the late 1990s.
Macheso’s manager, William Tsandukwa, said Orchestra Mberikwazvo would be holding a number of shows this year to strengthen the brand.
“We are working on identifying other markets because we feel our brand has grown and it can perpetrate more markets than before.
“As for the South Africa and the UK shows, we are doing these in fulfilment of the promise we made to our fans in these countries that we will continue to hold shows whenever we get an opportunity to do so,” he said.
