ALICK Macheso has hailed a businessman, who spread his wings to Chinhoyi, for showing that there was life outside the capital.
Boss Chau Nedu took his Jongwe Corner nightclub franchise to the Mashonaland West capital.
On Easter Sunday, the sungura star played at the venue, which was packed to the rafters as fans celebrated the holiday in style.
He said he was happy that Boss Chau’s hard work was now bearing fruit.
“I used to pester him from the day he opened Jongwe Corner in Hatfield.
“I knew his father very well as we had a very strong relationship.
“His father used to run Kamfinsa Hotel and other car garages in town.
“I am happy that he has carried on with his father’s legacy and today we are celebrating with him here in Chinhoyi,” he said.
Macheso said he was grateful to Boss Chau for the progress he has made in life.
“Chau is a very friendly and humble young man.
“He has got an attentive ear when it comes to listening to advice.
“I am happy that he has managed to spread his wings by opening another joint here in Chinhoyi.
“May the Lord continue to bless him.”
Macheso also talked about his band’s new dance called Chomolia.
He said the Chomolia dance was the brainchild of Joe Kasamba and Majuice.
“I learnt about this Chomolia dance here on stage.
“These guys are very creative.
“Most of the time I would be occupied perfecting my guitar skills while they would be busy perfecting their dancing moves and I believe it is during those rehearsals that they came up with the dance,” he said.
Macheso thanked his fans in Chinhoyi for never letting him down.
“Chinhoyi has been good and it has never failed us in terms of crowd attendance.
“The mood is always electric.”
Macheso said he will continue to give a platform for upcoming artists to showcase their skills during his live shows.
“I have given a helping hand to a number of artists in other genres like Freeman, Dorcas Moyo and the late Beater Mangethe, just to mention a few.
“In essence, my aspiration is to empower female artists in our industry for them to have growth and development of their musical careers,” he said.
