Beitbridge revellers are in for a memorable Valentine’s Day on Saturday as sungura ace Alick Macheso and his Orchestra Mberikwazvo band will perform at Eland House while Zimpraise serenades lovers at Pagomba Café. Eland Promotions spokesperson Larry Diamond said revellers should brace themselves for a sungura love affair. “We’re continuing from where we left last weekend when we hosted Sulumani Chimbetu. We had an overwhelming response and want to ensure fans that they’ll be in for a rare treat,” Diamond said.
Pagomba general manager Lovemore Chonzi said before the Valentine’s treat, they would also host a Miss Valentine Beitbridge tomorrow evening with 12 models from Beitbridge, Gwanda, Bulawayo and Harare expected to take to the ramp. Witness Matema will provide entertainment.
Meanwhile, Ufharana Youth group will host a talent show for up-and-coming artists at Dulibadzimu stadium on Saturday afternoon. The group’s spokesperson, Kudakwashe Garaipasi said the talent show would include activities such as dramas, poems and music with games for young children.
