Machete terror in Dangamvura

Post Reporter
DANGAMVURA residents are gripped by fear as a hooded machete-wielding assailant prowls the suburb under the cover of darkness, ambushing unsuspecting victims—particularly women walking alone.
The mysterious attacker has turned routine evening movements into a terrifying gamble, leaving the community on the edge.
The assailant, believed to be a male adult, has been preying on unaccompanied women, with reports alleging sexual assaults.
Acting Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, directed inquiries to national police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, who was unavailable for comment at the time due to commitments in Mvurwi.
The Manica Post has confirmed that another woman was attacked near Dangamvura Clinic last night.
She sustained a deep cut to her middle finger and lost her phone during the ordeal.
Her escape was only made possible when a passing vehicle illuminated the scene, startling the attacker and forcing him to flee.
In response to the growing threat, police conducted an awareness campaign in Dangamvura last week, urging residents to remain vigilant and avoid walking alone at night.
The exercise highlighted the dangers of assaults, theft, and other crimes that have escalated under the cover of darkness.
