ANTANANARIVO. — Madagascar’s government led by Prime minister Jean Ravelonarivo resigned yesterday, the secretary-general of the presidency General Ralala Roger said. “Resignation of the government was accepted by Madagascar’s president Hery Rajaonarimampianina,” Roger said, adding that those who resigned will continue performing their state duties until the appointment of the new members of the government.
Indiscretion from the followers of the outgoing prime minister said that he was forced by the president to resign.
On Wednesday, the Prime minister still said that he will not resign.
Since months ago, rumours on the stalemate between the president and the prime minister already spread out in Madagascar.
Ravelonarivo, a general navy, was appointed as the 18th Madagascar’s prime minister to replace Kolo Roger on January 17, 2015. — Xinhua
