Harare regional magistrate, Mrs Estere Chivasa, has granted the State’s application to have Walter Magaya’s rape trial conducted in a special court and held in-camera.

In her ruling, Mrs Chivasa stated, “The rationale behind the Victim Friendly Court is to cater to rape cases involving both children and adults, as age is not a determining factor. The primary objective is to minimise trauma for rape victims. Therefore, the State’s application has been upheld.”
