Magorimbo acquitted of attempted rape

Court Reporter
Leader of Abundant Life Global Ministries, Bishop Danmore Magorimbo (45), who is accused of raping his married congregant while “cleansing her of evil spirits transmitted into her body by her husband”, was yesterday acquitted of attempted rape and indecent assault.

The magistrate Mr Adonia Masawi acquitted Magorimbo for lack of sufficient evidence.

Magorimbo’s defence case on allegations of rape will be heard on Monday as Mr Masawi said the State had made a prima facie against him.

Through his lawyer Mr Charles Chinyama, Magorimbo last week applied for discharge at the close of the State’s case.
