Magriza Made Me Cook earns praise from UK-based radio presenter

Cultural content creator, Magriza Made Me Cook founder Prince Sivalo Mahlangu has received praise from UK-based Zimbabwean radio presenter and DJ, Mima Moyo, who has credited his online content with helping her family through the isolation of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Chat With Nat Podcast, Moyo reflected on her journey as a Zimbabwean broadcaster in England and revealed the unexpected impact Mahlangu’s work had on her mother during one of the most difficult periods of the pandemic.
Moyo, who presents Mima Music Mondays on UK-based EXT Radio, said her mother became a devoted follower of Mahlangu’s YouTube channel after discovering his traditional cooking and cultural content.
“During Covid, my mother was watching a lot of YouTube and Prince Sivalo Mahlangu’s videos came up and she began watching them religiously. After seeing this, I reached out to Mahlangu and told him how grateful I am and how much I appreciate and love the work that he is doing. He was an important part in keeping my mother sane during that time,” said Moyo.
She added that what began as a message of appreciation blossomed into a lasting friendship.
Moyo said she later arranged for her mother to meet Mahlangu, describing the encounter as a memorable and emotional experience for the family.
The tribute highlights the growing international reach of Magriza Made Me Cook, a platform that celebrates Zimbabwean traditional cuisine, culture and heritage through engaging digital content.
Mahlangu’s influence continues to grow beyond Zimbabwe’s borders. He is set to represent the country at the Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival in Eswatini, where he has been invited to showcase Zimbabwean traditional cuisine. At the festival, he will join renowned culinary personalities, including Chef Mmabatho Molefe and Chef Sive Bhembe, in celebrating African food, culture and storytelling.
