Magwegwe narrows gap at top

MAGWEGWE Stars reduced Inline Academy’s lead in the Thembalethu Southern Region Women’s Soccer League to five points after thumping Sobukhazi 3-0 on Friday.

Magwegwe took advantage of the log leaders’ inactivity after their tie with Blackboots was postponed.

Inline Academy have 34 points while Magwegwe Stars have 29 points.

The hammering was bottom team Sobukhazi’s ninth loss of the season from 13 games and they remain on five points with eight games left.

ZRP Bulawayo edged Bulawayo Polytechnic 1-0 to move level on 24 points with Highlanders Royals.

New Orleans remain fifth despite dismissing Ubuntu 4-1.
