Magwizi, Warriors coach attend Afco draw

RABAT. − More than 90 countries in Africa, the Middle East, Europe, North and South America will watch the the final draw of the CAF AFCON), Morocco 2025, tonight.

The draw will be conducted at Mohammed V National Theatre in Rabat, Morocco at 8pm Zimbabwean time.

New ZIFA president Nqobile Magwizi and Warriors coach Michael Nees are expected to attend the draw.

It will be Magwizi’s first official assignment, as the ZIFA boss, after a landslide win during the elections in Harare on Saturday.

Magwizi attended a CAF function in Morocco last month just to familiarise himself with what happens at such functions.

However, this will be a different assignment as he will be accorded all the privileges reserved for a head of a football association.

His invitation from CAF boss Patrice Motsepe was delivered shortly after his election victory in Harare on Saturday.

Magwizi has said his immediate focus will be on ensuring that the Warriors get the best possible preparations for the 2025 AFCON finals and the National Sports Stadium is renovated to enable the national team to play its home assignments in Harare.

The AFCON 2025 draw will be streamed live on CAF official website, CAFONLINE.COM and CAFTV (YouTube).

Leading the global broadcasters are CAF’s traditional partners, beIN Sport (MENA, Europe, America, South Pacific), Canal+, SABC, Azam Media, AfroSport, Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation, SNRT, DAZN and many others.

The draw will be live on the Free to Air Platforms of 46 African countries, including all the 24 participating nations, thus ensuring access for fans.

The TotalEnergies CAF AFCON Morocco 2025 will takes place from 21 December 2025 − 18 January 2026. − CAF/H-Metro Reporter
