ZIMBABWE Football Association (Zifa) president Nqobile Magwizi appointment to serve on the Fifa commercial and marketing advisory committee is a huge endorsement as the administrator continues to world towards stabilising the association.
The committee provides strategic guidance on the international motherbody’s commercial and marketing activities.
The appointment, made in line with the provisions of the Fifa statutes and Fifa Governance regulations, will see Magwizi serve a four-year term from 2025 to 2029.
The Fifa commercial and marketing advisory committee also plays an instrumental role in shaping strategies that drive the growth, visibility, and sustainability of the global game through marketing innovation, sponsorship, and fan engagement.
Speaking on his appointment, Magwizi said: “It is an honour to represent Zimbabwe and Africa at this level of world football administration. This appointment is not only a personal milestone but a reflection of the strides we are making as a nation to reassert our place within the global football family. I look forward to contributing meaningfully to Fifa’s commercial and marketing vision and ensuring that the interests of developing football nations are well represented.”
Zifa congratulated Magwizi on this landmark achievement and remained confident that his contribution will enhance Zimbabwe’s visibility and participation in global football development initiatives.
On Monday, Magwizi represented the nation at the 47th Ordinary General Assembly of the Confederation of African Football (Caf) held in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
He was accompanied by the association’s vice-president, Loveness Mukura and general-secretary Yvonne Manwa.
The high-level gathering, chaired by Caf president Patrice Motsepe, brought together presidents of all 54 Caf Member Associations, representatives from the six Zonal Unions and senior football administrators from across the continent.
The Ordinary General Assembly serves as Caf’s highest decision-making body, reviewing key developments in African football, adopting strategic frameworks for the coming year, and deliberating on governance, competitions, and development matters shaping the future of the game.
“Zimbabwe’s presence at the Caf Congress reflects our renewed commitment to active engagement in continental and global football affairs. We are steadily reintegrating into the international football community, ensuring that our voice, ideas, and ambitions contribute to the growth of the game both at home and across Africa,” said Magwizi.
