GOSPEL artist Tatenda Mahachi’s video featuring South Africa songbird, Dr Winnie Mashaba, drops today.
Titled “A Friend/Shamwari”, the single was recorded earlier this month with the South African gospel star coming to Zimbabwe for recordings.
The need to promote tourism and Ubuntuism is behind this joint.
“As promised, we are realising the Shamwari video this Monday by mid-day and we hope both our fans will like it.
“We recorded the video here in Harare and in South Africa so that we could appeal to both markets through creating wonderful visuals.
“Our main focus is to use gospel music to preach love and oneness between us and sisters in Mzansi,” said Mahachi.
The gospel singer described his partnership with the veteran singer as a blessing.
“She is a complete artist and I had always wanted to do a collaboration with her.
“The video will speak for itself that working with her was a gift and I had to bring the best out of myself too,” said Mahachi.
He said he has plans to work with more international artists from the region.
Before she left for her base, Dr Winnie urged her fans to watch out for the song and video.
“I urge you to follow my brother Tatenda Mahachi from Zimbabwe, he is a powerful singer.
“Look out for the video on YouTube on Monday 26 September, love you all,” signed out Dr Mashaba in a promotional video.
The gospel star-cum-presenter is famed for her outstanding work in the genre with her experience spanning over 20 years.
