WARRIORS midfield talisman KudakwasheA a?Nkembea? Mahachi will endure playing with a metal pin after he was successfully operated on following his right-arm fracture suffered during training at the National Sports Stadium.

He picked the injury ahead of the Warriors 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea last Sunday.

The 22-year-old Golden Arrows man came worse off an aerial tussle with Maritzburg United defender Blessing Moyo, with the former Chicken Inn ace landing awkwardly on his wrist during the senior teamas workout at Gateway High School.

The surgery, which will see the diminutive former Chicken Inn winger endure playing with a metal pin, was recently done in Durban, South Africa.

a?I am happy to say I was successfully operated on. The doctors inserted a metal pin that is meant to help me recover with speed. I will also endure playing with the pin. They (doctors) also moulded a new plaster on the arm. I will be out of action for six weeks and I will be going for a review on Monday,a? said Mahachi in an interview from Durban.

While he admits that the injury was a big setback for him, he is looking forward to bouncing back stronger.

a?Who am I to question what happened to me because only God knows. I will need to stay focused and look forward to doing my best for my club (Golden Arrows) and the country. I will certainly bounce back stronger,a? said the Mzilikazi-bred footie.

He added: a?I would have loved to travel to Guinea and do duty for my country. However, I am happy because we had already sealed our Afcon qualification. I am looking forward to shining at Afcon. A better and improved Mahachi will shine for the Warriors,a? he added.

Warriorsa team doctor Nick Munyonga was confident Mahachi could have been treated in Harare, but after consulting the wingeras club, it was decided that he will continue his rehabilitation in South Africa.

Mahachi has been one of the star performers, as Callisto Pasuwaas men marched into the 2017 Nations Cup in June with a game to spare.
