Ignatious Yesaya, the Technical Director for City Fadhaz said that the social league was established as an initiative to combat drug and substance abuse through basketball, which helps keep the youth occupied through sport.
“The social league ran for eight weeks this year, drawing players from various provinces including Bulawayo, Manicaland, Masvingo and Mashonaland,” he said.
“We are proud to have hosted in those eight weeks or so players from across the country, some of them who ply their trade in the top-flight leagues. This is a positive development as we work on complementing Government efforts in fighting the drug and substance abuse menace through sports.”
