GOSPEL musician, Mai Patai, is set to release her fourth album titled “Watch and Pray” on July 30.

It will be launched at Christ Unveiling Ministries in the Harare central business district (CBD).

The multi-awarding winning gospel artiste released a single last year as she was working on perfecting her album.

Addressing the media in the capital yesterday, the Gweru-bred songbird said her upcoming album was worth the wait.

“I believe that this is one of my best albums since I had enough time to work on it.

“I went to school to learn more about music and I believe it is going to be evident in this album.

“There are six tracks on the album — Ndinonyengetera, Musandisiya, Mwanakomana, Chii Chandingatya, Handikundikane and Settle My Matter,” she said.

She assured fans a number of artists will grace the launch.

“There is a great line-up of supporting acts on the day.

“Natsai Moyo, Jonah Chivasa, Elizabeth, Bethany Pasinawako and Jose Sax.

“All those that are coming to support have different things that they have lined up for fans so it is good that one gets to attend,” she said.

Mai Patai had taken a break from music for a while.

“For three years, I was at a bible school and recently I enrolled at the Midlands State University.

“I am taking a music course and I believe this can help me get a better understanding of music and how I am supposed to go about it.

“I have noticed that when one takes a break at something, or does something to make things better, it always helps,” said Mai Patai.

She added:

“Since I came back from the break, I have noticed a great change in my music.

“The break was not because I had given up, no, I had taken that break to perfect my skills so that I come back and start making good music.”
