MAJESA, who won the Marvelous Nakamba junior tournament, will headline the inaugural Universal Football Management tournament at Prince Edward tomorrow and Sunday.
Tournament organiser, Kelvin Mufuka, who is based in Cape Town, said they have now decided to take the tournament back home to Zimbabwe, for the first time.
The tournament will feature 16-teams, including leading academies – Friendly, DC Academy, AYSA and Galaxy.
“We have decided to introduce ourselves back home by hosting our inaugural UFM Under-17 Soccer Tournament after we have been operating in South Africa over the last couple of years.
“The main objective is to promote and nurture the young players and the Prince Edward tournament will help introduce ourselves back home.
“After the inaugural home tournament, we will have an 18-team member squad who will play in South Africa in November.
“They will play friendlies against Cape Town Stars, Ubuthu, among other teams.
“The idea is to prepare youngsters for a career in football and those who will impress will have an opportunity to travel to Amsterdam to play some European teams with an opportunity to be scouted,” said Mufuka.
