Makandiwa a crowd puller

The Harare West Province conference headed by Overseer Cossum Chiyangwa attra-cted about 3 000 people.
However, it was Evangelist Emmanuel Makandiwa-led Christians of the United Family International Church that attracted over 30 000 worshippers, who could be seen at the same venue waiting for a daily Sunday service that was starting at 12 noon yesterday.
In an interview with The Herald yesterday, Innocent Kativu of the UFI interdenominational church said the teaching is different that is why Evangelist Makandiwa is a crowd puller.
“The AFM was a clear indication that some man of God are not adequately doing their work. The head of Harare province is not a preacher nor a teacher but just a pastor.
“That is the reason why so many people who were in AFM fled to Makandiwa because he talks to people,” said Kativhu.
He said people were sick and tired of being told things they already know.
“We are flocking to evangelists because they are the annointed men of God and you really feel that something has changed after attend-ing these church ceremonies,” he said.
Tarisai Sirewu added: “People of this country really need deliverance and not just verses from the Bible thus pastors should desist from just preaching about prosperity while people are wallowing in poverty.
“It is no longer the time of pointing out on problems, but the era of giving solutions to the problems like Evangelist Makandiwa and Saungweme do.
“Sometimes you go to church thinking that you are solving problems, but it is the other way round because the pastors would be busy fighting their battles rather than winning and helping souls, which is very disappointing,” she said.
Overseer Chiyangwa said there was no reason for churches to be involved in wran-gles.
“Churches do not clash because they preach of the same kingdom. I do not mind if the AFM members go and attend UFI or the other way round because we are all children of God.”
The conference started on Friday and ended yesterday.
