Make hay while 2016 shines

BLESSED greetings to you all, I pray that you are well today.
The year is still very young and l hope that you are continuously preparing for it.
One of the follies of youth is as Apostle Paul puts it in Romans 10 v 2, “ … zeal without knowledge”.
Most young people are so fired up for the year. New Year’s resolutions were made, radical positions have been taken.
Many have given up bad behaviours. Others want to lose weight while some have pledged to end toxic relationships. It is great that they all want to be better people.
However, this zeal or drive is often short lived.
The book of Proverbs is very powerful and I encourage you to read a chapter every day.
ln that book, you constantly come across a phrase that says, “. . .my son take heed …” This is a father advising his son on how to conduct himself.
For your resolutions to work this year, take time to copy from someone who has gone down that route before. Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 1 v 9, “… there is no new thing under the sun”.
Do not try to reinvent the wheel, use January to plan and strategise how you will execute your desires. Very few people do this.
Abraham Lincoln once said, “Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe”.
To accomplish your resolutions, have a detailed plan of how you will achieve it. Although the key to success is implementation, planning is the first step. Remember that we are still in the month of January so stop whatever you are doing and plan for the year.
In Genesis 6, God told Noah that a massive flood was coming and then proceeded to give Noah a detailed plan of the ark that would save the animals and those who would listen to Noah’s warning. Do you know that it took Noah 120 years to build that ark according to God’s plan? For 120 years, people mocked Noah and paid no attention to his preparations for the flood. Guess what, the flood eventually came and it did not last for 120 years, it rained heavily for just 40 days and 40 nights. All those who were not prepared died, only the prepared lived.
You know you want to get married this year, you know you are getting one year older this year, you know that some time this year, exams will come. You know you will need to move out of your parents’ house at some point, you know you cannot continue to live your life as you have been doing over the past years. What are you doing about it?
I know that putting plans into action is not simple but the question is, what is your plan? That is the starting point.
However, it is not just about making plans, it is about making the right kind of plans. God speaks to Moses and instructs him to build a tabernacle or a place of worship in Exodus 25 v 9.
I am encouraging you to make a tabernacle. If you read that chapter and those that follow, you will see how detailed God is.
He mentions resources, material, people, time and so forth.
We cannot afford to leave anything to chance. Use this month to get God’s plan for your life.
If you had not fasted, put aside a few days to seek the face of God in your relationships, carrier, finances, education and health. Hear from God the same way that Noah and Moses did and I guarantee you that your plan will not fail.
List the resources you will need, make note of realistic timelines, strategise and apply your faculties. Make a plan for your plan.
Do you know that the billionaires and millionaires of this world have a minimum of 100 year plans for their money? They plan beyond their life. Just think about that.
The least that you can do is to have a 10 year plan for your life and then break it down into one year steps and then each year into 12 steps.
This is your year, plan for it, get ready for it, let nothing take you by surprise.
Till next week, God bless.
