AFTER his trip of a lifetime to Paris, France for a COPA Coca-Cola International Football Camp which started on 29 June and ended on Monday, aspiring footballer Tafadzwa Dhliwayo (15) of Gifford High School, reportedly won the heart of PSG Academy head coach Diedier Manila.
The academy is a feeder institution to – Paris Saint-Germain Football Club commonly referred to as PSG in Francea��s Ligue 1.
The youngster from Bulawayoa��s oldest township, Makokoba, made the trip together with Joe Moyo of Guinea Fowl after being part of the Zimbabwe team which participated in last yeara��s COPA Coca-Cola regional training camp in Pretoria, South Africa.
Coca-Cola Zimbabwe market activation manager Vee Chibanda accompanied the two boys to France.
At the regional training camp he was voted as the Most Outstanding Player. As if that was not enough, in France he won the Most Valuable Player Award. Consequently, Manila praised him as one of the best talents at the just concluded camp.
a�?His positioning on and off the ball is brilliant. He works so hard such that he makes other players look good. He reads the game well, a midfielder who defends, attacks and scores. He scored one of the most brilliant goals in the tournament from a dead ball,a�? Manila was quoted saying.
a�?We agreed to make him the most valuable player of the 2016 COPA Coca-Cola International camp tournament as he has the best fit for a PSG Football club values. He has interest for team, above his. He is a brilliant player but thinks others and team firsta�� he is a good dribbler but has no time to dribble the whole pitch,a�? added Manila.
Moyo also got rave reviews from COPAA� Coca-Cola legend and brand ambassador Xavier Hernandez .
Before his trip to Europe the Gifford High School pupil expressed his eagerness to put his flair on display.
a�?I am really delighted, when I get there I want to showcase my talent, my family is happy and they are wishing me all the best. I have been training really well for the trip but I cannot play in the tournament this year because I am over-age,a��a�� Dhliwayo was quoted as saying.
